Our journey started in 2011 with one of our team’s Breast Cancer diagnosis. Tricia endured a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation. The anti-nausea drugs make her mind race and kept her awake until the odd hours of the morning. It was during one of these times that she came up with the simple idea to get a few friends together for a ‘Girls Night In’ fundraiser, hoping to raise a couple of hundred dollars. She thought if she invited 20 friends she might raise $300. Tricia put a call out and we organised a night of raffles, auctions and laughter. 65 people arrived at her house and we raised $7,300 for the Queensland Cancer Council. 12 months later, we did it again and exceeded all expectations. 120 people happily stood in the rain in her backyard and we raised over $27,000.

Since then, we have created a successful cookbook, which has now sold out, as well movie nights and golf days. To date we have raised and donated over $200,000 to our nominated charities. Our charity, Breast Friends, is run by volunteers, with no administration costs, so we’re proud the net profits from our events and projects are maximised and distributed directly to our partners.
